Humans of Saint Lucia in New York.

“It wasn’t very long after I moved to New York that I realised that most of the West Indian fetes I attended featured Trini and Bajan artists.  You hardly ever heard of a Saint Lucia artist performing at events and so I decided to make a change.  Its been four years now, since I am promoting and throwing Lucian parties featuring Lucian artists.  I have brought Ricky T, Teddyson, Ambi, Mongster and Superman to name a few.  Next week, I’ll be bringing Ezra, Sedale, CJ and others.  The thing is, those fetes expose our music and artists as well as it help keep our culture thriving in these parts.”

Is there anything you miss in Saint Lucia?
“To be frank, I miss the freedom of being carefree in Saint Lucia.  For example, at home [Saint Lucia], one don’t have to worry too much over paying bills and being hungry.  If you don’t have money at home you can get food such as mangoes, breadfruit, coconuts from a neighbour or friend.  If you don’t have money here, you are doomed! Here you must work to survive.”
