‘Hate a dog but admit its teeth are white’. In other words you may not like someone but you should admit if this person is good at something.

Growing up, there was a major bad apple in the clan. He was what you would refer to as a ‘jumbie’, a drug addict. He stole from the household to support his habit and was not welcome around. However, when he came around, he was very good to mama. He did her odd jobs. He ran her errands. He pampered and worshipped her. This could have been his tactic to get money to support his habit but we all can admit that despite his drug addiction he was very helpful to mama. ‘Hayi chyen mé di dan-ee blan’.
